AUTHOR INFORMATION

The author Dr. Chakradhar Satapathy was born in the village of Adikanda Pur in Puri district of Odisha on 15th July 1942. He was graduated from Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Agriculture Science in the year 1966. He secured Gold medal in M.Sc. Agril. Extension in the year 1969. With highest grade point he completed Ph.D. from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in the year 1981. He served in OUAT at different capacities and retired as Professor and Dean of Extension in the year 2002. There after he served as Vice Chancellor in Kalinga University at Chhattisgarh for a year. At present he is working as Director Amity Humanity Foundation at Bhubaneswar since 2004.The author has guided 30 Ph.D. Scholars and many M.Sc. Ag scholars. He has published more than 200 research papers in different leading journals of research. He has been member of many National Committees of Agriculture and Professional Associations.He author has published book like, Degradation of ethical values, Communication and farm journalism, Walks of life, Dawn to Dust, Life and Living, Measurement of Gender Empowerment Equity and Development, Sustainability of small farms in Coastal Ecosystems, Women in Sustainable Agriculture, Empowerment of Women: Perception and Reality, An approach to Social Research and many others. In Oriya literature his book 'Chhayee' and 'Namaste Sri Jagannath' have been appreciated.The author likes to write stories on social life of the people of rural areas. The author had the opportunity to visit all the blocks of the state and interact with the farmers of different kind as Dean of Extension Education.He realizes that our social problem needs more attention than those of economic problems. According to him the new technologies have brought comfort, status, and dignity with breaking up of our social relationship which remained as our strength and core value.
