It has been my desire to write a book pertaining to my subject in a simplified form to guide practising obstetricians, gynaecologists , infertologist and post graduates. This book could serve as quick reference. The book is divided into various sections focusing on every aspect of treatment ranging from evaluation, diagnosis and management of various gynaecological, obstetric conditions pertaining to infertility and some specific topics related to assisted reproduction and IVF management in special circumstances.I have touched male infertility and rejuvenation of female reproductive system drafted in a manner that it will serve as a quick reference for the under graduates and post graduate students.The contents of this book are for general understanding and discussion and should not be viewed as recommending or promoting a specific method of treatment or diagnosis which wholly depends on the expertise of the treating Obgyn or infertility specialist.

AUTHOR INFORMATION

Right in the heart of the city of Chennai is Dr. Kamala Selvaraj's dream project, the "Fertility Research Centre", pioneering Assisted Reproductive Technology with a state-of -the -art IVF laboratory. She is a fertility specialist and clinician, with more than 37 years of experience in the field of assisted reproduction, currently serves as the Associate Director of G.G.Hospital. She is the daughter of the famous yesteryear cine star late Mr. Gemini Ganesan. After graduating from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Dr. Selvaraj completed her DGO and MD from Madras Medical College Chennai. She got trained in 'In vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer' techniques at Monash University in 1985 followed by several training programmes in Singapore and Monash University. Dr. Kamala Selvaraj commissioned the FIRST TEST TUBE BABY of South India in August 1990 and since then had many achievements to her credit. She is also the recipient of several awards including Rajiv Gandhi National Unity Award (1991), Best Lady Doctor award (1993), Mahila Shironmani Award (1995), Rajiv Gandhi Memorial National Integration Award (1995), Seva Ratna Award (2001) and Life time achievement award by Dr. MGR University (2011 & 2013). She has been felicitated at colleges and universities for her achievements in her field of specialization. She was honored at the Alma mater of Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore for the expertise in the field of Assisted Reproduction in 2019In 2001, she was awarded Ph.D. for her thesis on "Premature Ovarian Failure and its management". She has been first as well as co-author for journal publications (national and international) as well as chapters in books on assisted reproduction. She has also presented research papers at many National and international conferences.Last but not the least she has enabled more than 25,000 pregnancies and most of them are using the IVF method. She is currently the president of TAPISAR (Tamilnadu and Pondicherry Chapter of Indian society of Assisted Reproduction)She constantly updates herself in latest trends of assisted reproduction by participating in national and international conferences.
