Brian D. Kharpran Daly was born in Shillong, Meghalaya, India and is presently Chairman of The Shillong Co-operative Urban Bank Ltd. He was awarded the prestigious Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award 2002 by the Government of India for his pioneering work in the discoveries and documentation of the caves of Meghalaya. He was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong.
