The book entitled "Understanding English Language and Literature: A Students' Companion" is designed to help the Students of undergraduate courses to develop the foundation of English Language and literature. The book is based on interdisciplinary approach which provides the learners a compact and concise framework of the history and scope of English Language and literature. It has been observed that the learner lacks the basics of their subjects at the early phase of their undergraduate programmes. For example, the technical students are unware the scope of language and literature if asked; and the students of literature hardly knows the technicality of english language. AUTHOR INFORMATION

Dr. Preeti Bala is the founder of English Academia: The School of Language and Skills. She has been indulged in teaching and training since a decade. She is a performance Coach who works for the skill development in youth nurturing the abilities and talents which the learners are unware. Being a woman, she has put painstaking efforts to empower women of the society by fostering the major skills of English Language. she has accomplishment in teaching of English language as well as literature. She is an ambivert, iconoclast and she longs for perfection in whatever she does. During her career, she recognised her writerly instinct and passion for literature. She has been involved in interdisciplinary studies and research works.
